Eating in the Big Apple

The Big Apple. We’re already hungry. You can’t walk a block without passing a restaurant. Sometimes you’re in the mood for fine dining. But most of the time, you’re in the mood for REALLY excellent grubFear not, we’ve tirelessly tracked down the greatest places, selflessly sampling their dishes for the sake of your tastebuds. Go forth and be greedy.

Marlow & Sons

Some things will always be cool. The Rolling Stones. Gold Hoop Earrings. And this place. It’s not try-hard, it’s inherent. Settle in and order something to share from the seasonal and frequently changing menu. A laid back vibe with excellent food. Simples.

Cull & Pistol

We have a few favourite places inside the Chelsea Market but this places wins hands down. Go for a walk along the High Line, visit the Whitney, and then late lunch here – heaven. We had the most delicous lobster roll with paprika, fries and a glass of chablis. Darling, it was divine.

The Pig and Khao

The-Pig-and-Khao

Fillipino and Thai infused restaurant with creative and unusual small plates. Understated and casual but absolutely delicious food with a fun vibe. Trust us, it won’t disappoint.

Buddakan

Exhilarating to the eyes and tastebuds alike. No wonder Carrie and the girls loved this place. Request to sit in the main dining area on the lower level. Just make sure it’s on someone else’s credit card.

Clinton Street Baking Co.

Clinton-Street-Bakery

Seriously good pancakes. You will probably describe them as the best you’ve ever eaten. The portions are HUGE. Visit on a weekday – at weekends, the queue resembles Heathrow on a bank holiday.

Smorgasburg Food Market

Smorgasburg

Dubbed “The Woodstock of Eating” by the New York Times, it’s the largest weekly open-air food market in America. Saturdays on the Williamsburg waterfront and Sundays in beautiful Prospect Park (April through to November). Just make sure you do a once round before choosing to avoid serious food envy.
