Meet Vikki Pearson

Meet our next #AureeAngel Vikki (@styleminimalism). Vikki is a fan of minimalism and her effortless looks are inspired by both Scandinavian and French style. She is editor of Style&Minimalism, a fashion, interiors, travel and lifestyle blog about well-made products with a minimalist aesthetic. Vikki lives with her husband in South West London in a home that is so hygge, you could be excused for thinking you might have actually travelled to Denmark. We met Vikki to find out more about what Christmas means to her this year.

What will you be wrapping as a gift under the tree?

Auree’s Onslow gold vermeil double knot stud earrings for my Mum, they’re such a timeless design, and a classic navy A.P.C. overcoat for my husband.

Where will you be spending Christmas this year?

We’ll be staying in London for Christmas at one of my sister-in-law’s, who lives 5 minutes from us. That is unless my husband surprises me and we disappear off somewhere last minute

Do you have any Christmas traditions?

Nothing particularly out of the ordinary, we spend time with our family and give gifts to each other. I’ll decorate the Christmas tree at the start of December, place a simple wreath on our front door and usually hang a little mistletoe in the house. We eat lots of mince pies and fudge, and generally overindulge. I also love to buy a bag of roasted chestnuts from the street vendors in London; it’s something I’ve done since I was little when my Dad would take me to see the Christmas lights.

What’s on your Christmas wishlist?

I’d love Auree’s Brompton gold bangle and a subscription to Suitcase magazine.

What’s your favourite party piece?

The Olivera gold large hoop earrings are perfect for the Christmas party season; I’d wear them with FRAME’s black velvet wide-leg trousers and ruffled white blouse.

Favourite Christmas Film / Song?

Santa Claus The Movie and The Snowman were my favourite films when I was little but I love to watch The Holiday these days.

What’s the best/worst Christmas present you ever received?

I’ve received some pretty awful things in my time but I’m not about to name names. The best presents are always the ones with meaning behind them.

Have you ever had a white Christmas?

Yes, a few times. The last time was my first Christmas with my (now) husband and his family in St Anton, Austria. It was a beautiful sunny day, we skied and then sat down to a lovely festive meal in the chalet in the evening. It was very cosy with the smell of the log fires burning.

Is your Christmas tree real or fake?

Real but I’m not an advocate of cutting down trees just for the sake of it. A couple of years ago my husband bought a real one (in a pot), which lives in our garden the rest of the year. It comes back in the house at the beginning of December and then goes back outside in January. It looks a little out of place in the garden but it saves on trees.

Are you planning any New Year’s resolutions?

I’m not really one for making New Year’s resolutions. I don’t think you should wait til the start of a new year to make a change in your life. If there’s something you want to change there’s no time like the present.

What would be your dream place to visit for the Christmas holidays?

I’d love to spend the Christmas holidays in a traditional chalet in Banff, Canada. I’d take all my family and we’d spend our days skiing, hopefully see the Northern Lights and have a go at sledding.

On the beach or on the snow?

On the snow, I love both but at Christmas it’s nice to be surrounded by snow.

What treats do you leave for Father Christmas?

A mince pie and a glass of brandy.
