Latest Gold Jewellery Trends

2022 is proving to be an exciting year for us all. After over a year of being locked inside and swapping our usual outfits for loungewear, we’re finally allowed back out again! Everyone has been frantically shopping for their post-lockdown looks – but don’t forget your accessories! The latest jewellery trends for 2022 are powerful, energising and a mix of vintage and modern. From baroque pearls to chunky chains, this year’s jewellery trends will be a hit with everyone, even if you only end up pairing them with your pyjamas!

Chains & links

Chain jewellery has been around for a while now but it’s getting a major resurgence this year. Bigger and bolder than ever, chains and links have been spotted in many designers’ collections, including Givenchy, Dolce & Gabbana and Victoria Beckham. Oversized, thick and chunky necklaces create a big impact and putting chain on chain makes an even more elaborate statement look. Chains and links add more texture and dimension to your wardrobe and are set to dominate this SS21 season.

Pearls

Pearls are classic, timeless and unlikely to ever go out of style but 2021 has given them a modern reboot – not that they needed it, of course! Baroque pearls are especially exciting at the moment. The irregularity of the baroque shape is turning heads and adding more texture, allure and modernity to pearl jewellery. On the runway, we’ve been spotting pearls mixed with gold and silver. The combination of the pearl’s natural white lustre with gold and silvers’ rich sparkle highlights the beauty of both the metals and the gemstone.

Cuff bracelets

Much like chains, cuff bracelets are bigger and better than ever. 2022 is the year of “go big or go home” and the dainty bangles that have been dominating the jewellery world are having to take a backseat. Instead of stacking bracelets, we’re opting for singular oversized cuffs. Sculptural cuffs in vibrant colours add a bold look to a casual or evening outfit, perfect for both during and post lockdown.

XL pendant necklaces

Keeping with the OTT theme are extra-long pendant necklaces. Pendant necklaces are always popular, but this year we’re opting for the XXL kind. Combine the chain and link trend with this one and you’ve got a stylish statement necklace which adds length to the body.

Colourful beads

An injection of colour is much needed for Spring and Summer and colourful beads and charms are abundant this year. This throwback trend is the classic example of cutesy kitsch and the mix of bright neon colours and statement icons add a burst of fun to any look – and after last year, don’t we all need a bit of fun?! This trend is unapologetic and reminiscent of pop art – plus Harry Styles is a huge fan!

Singular statement

Statement earrings have been a long time favourite but it’s all about the singular statement now. A contemporary statement, a single earring or a mismatched pair are sweeping the runway, with Fendi and Miu Miu both showcasing them in their presentations. Wearing one earring really draws attention so you’ve got to get it right. Choosing a long dangling earring that boasts colour and intricate shapes creates a fun and interesting look. Make sure you balance this with where you place your hair and an equally ‘out-there’ outfit.

Finally, we have the perfect trend for the Summer – beach-themed jewellery! A relaxed boho-inspired look is perfect for a day at the beach and this year, we’re loving all the shapes and themes of the beach. Waves, starfish and shells are all beautiful shapes to wear this year and to really capture the essence of the beach, we’re loving incorporating natural raw materials into our accessories. Oh, and we can’t forget gold! Combining these beachy icons with the rich warm colour of gold gives you a bright and irresistible look, perfect for 2021.
