Chain Lengths | How to Choose Your Length
With so much choice, it is hard to choose or know the perfect chain length for yourself or someone else. Here is a little guide on silver, rose and yellow gold chain designs to show you how each length looks when hanging with or without your favourite little pendants.
1. 16"/40cm
This choker style chain is the ideal length for everyday and sits just below the clavicle on your neck. We find this chain length works best with open clothing like a V-neck top or dress and is the ultimate length for layering with longer necklaces and chains.
2. 16"-18"/40-45cm
This is the chain to choose if you want to have a chain that you can wear at two lengths depending on the outfit or neckline and works well if you are looking for a gift and are unsure on what length chain to get.
3. 18"/45cm
Smart, sophisticated and a staple here at Auree HQ. This 18" chain length shown in 9ct yellow gold on the model is one of the most popular chain lengths as it works for everyday wear and the length hangs right on your collarbone.
4. 18"-20"/45-50cm
Adjustable chains, like the one shown in this image, are great if you want to layer with other necklaces to ensure you have a nice range of lengths. We love to wear both together for a textured layered look.
5. 20"/50cm
If you prefer a longer length chain for a pendant or as a necklace, then this is the chain for you. Hanging between the collarbone and the bust, it looks fabulous with a low-cut top or a polo neck. We just love this chain length.
